||A church, temple or mosk is a community, not a building, not a school and not a specific location. We as a city, a neighborhood, constantly tear down the old to make way for the new. HC plans to tear down buildings to make way for a new school, a new begining. An improved community. How does 140+ years of educating young men trump a building that was built in the 60's? Why is this stopping the much needed progress of our city and community to re-grow, re-build and re-new?
As a parent of a Holy Cross Graduate, I want to see HC continue to grow. My son is the fine young man he is because of HC and the spirit of this school. HC offers an education and an environment for our young men that is indispensable in this city. HC is not abandoning New Orleans. HC could have chosen to re-build in Kenner, Metairie, Slidel, the North Shore....But HC has decided to remain in New Orleans.
Let the construction and re-building of our city begin. Let the rebuiliding of a community begin. Tear down the building.
