Comments: I am a former, hopefully soon-to-be-again resident of Gentilly and attended mass at and supported St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church. I lived there twenty years before loosing everything. The move of Holy Cross to the Gentilly area gave us all hope for our neighborhood's revitalization. Then a man comes out of the woodwork and wants to save a building . . . a building which formerly housed the church. The church, by the way, is the people and NOT the building. Which would attract YOU to move into the area? A deteriorating building and the land and buildings surrounding it in the middle of a devastated neighborhood; or, a neighborhood with a well-established school that by all indications is coming back. I support the demolition of the building to encourage the rebuilding and revitalization of Gentilly and New Orleans. Why would you want to hinder that?
