St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church
Comments: I may reside in Texas, but my heart and soul will never be far from NO. Both Gentilly and Holy Cross are never far from my mind. As a teacher I served the Holy Cross Community for 25 years, an understand how the Mission of Holy Cross has aided the New Orleans community by helping in the formation of so many young men. Our Alum are fine men who serve the area as businessmen and leaders. The Holy Cross tradition is found in the lives of its alum, families, and faculty. As a former resident for 54 years of Gentilly, I know that the relocation of HC to Gentilly will not only help to bring the area back, but it will enrich the lives of its residents. HC has always been a good neighbor in its current location and will continue that relationship in Gentilly. It is time that New Orleans is supported in its efforts to move forward. As far as the Church, the storm just added to an already decaying structure. The work of the "Church" not just the building but the work of the Lord is best seen when we meet the needs of our children. In allowing HC to find new roots in Gentilly the teachings of the "Church" will move forward as well. Please support HC in this request so that our students will have a new home and the work of the Holy Cross Community can continue for hundreds of years to come.
