Comments: It's amazing how many people have forgotton that the establishment of the parish and the original church were a major part of the development of the entire area. Of course, bringing Holy Cross into the neighborhood would help to re-vitalize the area. So would a commitment to bring back the parish with both it's school and church. I grew up across the street from the school and church and attended both. Contrary to what many (not all) believe, the church and school were both architectural gems which won several design awards. Our problem now is that we are allowing this controversy to divide us into opposing camps. We should be united in demanding that our government re-imburse all losses including our homes, churches, schools, and businesses. These losses are the direct result of the faulty design and contruction of the levees under the direction of the "U. S. Army Corps of Engineers". This is a fact admitted by the Corps itself. Lets not tear down another building without a commitment for re-imbursement for remediation.
