St Frances Cabrini Church, 70122
Comments: Move forward, not back. I grew up with Cabrini as my parish, school and church. The church has won awards for its cutting edge design when it was built. It is no longer cutting edge. And even if FEMA we to pay to fix the church, who should have to pay of the upkeep and maintaince? The roof was prone to leaks and the utility cost was extremely high. Do not elevate this building up to the status of and idol. Catholics do not need a certain building to be able to worship. If there are enough parishioners, another church can be built. Help Holy Cross revitalize the area by supporting their move to Gentilly. Please do not let an empty shell of a building from keeping the community from rising out of the flood waters stronger than it was before.
