St Francis Xavier Church 550 Paris Ave. New Orleans, LA
Comments: I am a Holy Cross Alum, owned a home within 1 block of the new potential gentilly location and lived in Cabrini parish.. The world of NOLA has changed and what was may no longer be. Our institution has been in temporary facilities for 18 months and needs to announce their new home immediatey or this century old business will continue to suffer. Holy Cross will bring a 127 year mission of providing an excellent catholic based education for young men in New Orleans and the surrounding region. NOLA needs more high quality educational institutins open for business ASAP. Today this gentilly area is virtually abandoned. Holy Cross will re-vitalize, energize and be a magnet for the gentilly residential and business community. The significant financial investment to build an entire new middle and high school will drive employment, significantly improve the lanscape of the area and will bring positive attention and focus to this part of gentilly..
Tear the church down, let Holy Cross rebuild their institution in Gentilly and allow Post Katrina progress to continue!!!
