Comments: When I first heard of your intentions, I thought it was a joke. I mean who would honestly propose trying to classify a decommissioned and decaying church as a historic site instead of allowing one of the finest educational institutions ever established in New Orleans to re-locate to continue educating current and future Holy Cross Men. After all, if FEMA is successful, who takes care of this property? Not FEMA for sure, FEMA is having a hard enough time taking care of the people of New Orleans. That is where your focus should be -- assisting the great people of this wonderful city (where i was born and raised). Let me suggest that the best way for FEMA to earn some much needed respect in Louisiana is to not press this historic review, but dismiss it and allow a much more historic precedent unfold -- the relocation and rebuilding of Holy Cross High School. I ask you to consider the 2 options: (1) declare a delapidated building a historic site and let it crumble to its foundation or (2) provide a foundation for growth in this area by allowing an education institution founded in the 1800's to relocate in this location. The choice is simple.
