St. Frances Cabrini Church
Comments: I am in favor of demolishing the church.

Although I am not a parishoner of Cabrini Parish, I attended Mass there on Saturday afternoons. Presently I am still displaced, living with friends in Metairie but hope to go home to Lakeview someday soon.

It seems strange to me that the question of Cabrini being an historical building came to light so recently and after the vast amount of work done to hear from the parishoners. Why wasn't this "theory" advanced sooner? It appears to me that tacking that label on the church now simply to appeases or honosr the architect and his friends and colleagues.

i attended Mass at Cabrini, not because of the beauty of the Church, but because of the celebration of the Eucharist with and among many of my friends. Actually, from the time the Church was built, it was, for me, anything but a thing of beauty.

Please be rational. Demolish the Church and allow Holy Cross to begin its new era on that property and to be a catalyst in bringing back the population of that area. Isn't that what we need now more than a building with an "historic" roof that has leaked since the Church was built?
