St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Church,5500 Paris Avenue, New Orleans LA
Comments: I am appalled that anyone would consider this "roof" of any historical and/or architectural preservation value. The value of the Gentilly area being rebuilt should be paramount to FEMA and the City of New Orleans. Further, when the City decided to remove the Rivergate (the same ugly architectural roof) to erect in its place a casino.....where were these preservationists. When meetings were held months and months before Holy Cross decided to move to this area….where were these preservationists? In there comfortable homes, while members of this precious Gentilly area are in trailers or worse…other cities.

Their time has past. It is time for rebuilding, a time for rebirth, a time for regrowth of a community that is urgently attempting to move forward and have graciously opened their arms to the Holy Cross family. In these times of desperation to rebuild, these preservationists want to save this roof in place of quality education.

Please vote to remove this eye sore building and let the Holy Cross family rebuild their lives and the lives of this Gentilly community.
