affected:
Cabrini/Holy Cross, 5500 Paris Ave
Comments: FEMA...When did it become expedient to destroy an architecturally significant building that didn't sustain enough damage to warrent it being torn down? What possible sense can be made of tearing down a building that Holy Cross says doesn't fit into their archtectural scheme; but they'll buy two acres across the street and build a new church. Let hem buy the two acres and walk away from Cabrini. It gives them a new footprint to work with. The 4 million dollars the Archdiocese is taking from the parishioners is more than enough to fix Cabrini and maintain Cabrini. There is enough interest in preserving Cabrini that a Foundation could be set up to perpetually maintain the building. NO ONE IS ASKING HOLY CROSS TO FIX AND MAINTAIN CABRINI. The problem is that Holy Cross wants a football stadium or some other nonsense to replace Cabrini.
