Comments: "Good Neighbor" Please let HC begin a new 125 year tradition in a good neighborhood. Just in case FEMA does not know where HC is located it is in the 9th Ward one of the poorest parts of New Orleans, this location made me very nervous when my son could drive to school or if we left school after a function late at night. Just for those that have no clue and talk without getting facts, Holy Cross has many weekend community clean up activities, Christmas in October where the teachers/students fixed houses on the weekend and does do alot of volunteering at St. Michael's school, the Senior take a week out of their summer and spend it with the homeless in food banks serving food, helping those stranded on the streets. They have been doing this and more for years. These boys were taught respect and was proud of their campus and always kept it clean. My son has gone and helped many times since he graduated to improve/paint/redo the gym to keep that part of New Orleans nice. I am not sure what people are referring to when they say Holy Cross is not a "Good Neighbor" or it is all Holy Cross or nothing. I wish they would realize Holy Cross is a Middle/High School not a Community Service Program obligated to make your life/home better. Wish you could voice your opinion with facts. Please let these young men start education in a school building soon.
