LOUISIANA TOURISM INDUSTRY WELCOMES THE WORLD TO "FALL IN LOVE WITH LOUISIANA ALL OVER AGAIN" AT "FUN SPOTS" DURING BOWL REVELRIES
WHAT: Visitors are now streaming into New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and Saints game to join in one of the New Orleans' greatest parties…the week-long tailgating that takes place all over town preceding and following the Sugar Bowl on January 3rd, 2007.
The Lieutenant Governor and Louisiana State Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism have brought together the leading tourism industry organizations to sponsor a special promotion of the city's "Fun Spots" to make sure visitors enjoy themselves as much possible during this week, and to encourage them to take the message home that New Orleans is very much back in business and is still one of the most "Fun Spots" in the nation. This campaign highlights the city's success hosting marquee sports events such as the Bayou Classic and New Orleans Bowl. Special posters, buttons, and even a special "Fun Spot Drink", (both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic of course), will be presented at hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, and shops around town.
The "Fun Spot" campaign will be kicked off by hospitality industry and Sugar Bowl officials as well as many industry workers, at a news conference on December 28th, 2006. The State has also organized a thank you campaign in Shreveport around the Independence Bowl to thank visitors to Louisiana. The New Orleans campaign compliments the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau campaign to let visitors know "We're Jazzed You're Here".
