STATE'S TOURISM AD CAMPAIGN HONORED WITH PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD
Lt. Governor Landrieu Accepts Award in New York City
Baton Rouge, LA - Louisiana's tourism advertising campaign will be honored with the Platinum Award at the 50th Annual Adrian Awards Gala held in New York City on Monday, January 29, 2007. Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu, the leader of the state's tourism industry, and representatives from Peter A. Mayer advertising, the company that developed the successful campaign, will accept the award and represent the state.
The Adrian Awards honor creative brilliance and best practices in hospitality, travel, and tourism-related marketing. In its 50th year, the competition has evolved into the world's most renowned and prestigious competition specifically tailored for the hospitality, travel, and tourism industries. In 2005, the competition attracted more than 1,200 entries from 36 countries.
Based on extensive research and testing, the state's advertising campaigns have touted the Louisiana experience and Louisiana culture. After hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the state enlisted Louisiana celebrities to participate in a national advertising campaign inviting visitors to "Come Fall in Love with Louisiana All Over Again."
