The National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation present Poetry Out Loud with the help of statewide arts partners like LDOA in all 50 states, American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Participation in
Poetry Out Loud (POL) helps students master public speaking skills, build self- confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. The program increases student engagement in literature classes, provides non-academic scholarship opportunities for students, and builds statewide cultural connections for schools.
In addition to being FREE, POL is easily implemented by a school, cultural institution such as a library or community theatre, or individual teacher or artist. We are looking for new and returning students to participate for the 2023-2024 school year.
