The History of Building Elevation in New Orleans

This important booklet was prepared by URS Group, Inc. for the Environmental/Historic Preservation Program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as part of their obligations under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended. The booklet is a great resource which, as highlighted in the document, addresses the circumstances and events that spurred the building elevation movement in New Orleans.
